6-7 November 2014, Dushanbe, Tajikistan: Senior government officials, national and international experts from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan discussed issues of irregular migration flows in Central Asia
IOM Kazakhstan has organized a regional meeting of senior migration government officials, national and international experts from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan to discuss on irregular migration flows in Central Asia under the IOM project "Mapping on Irregular Migration in Central Asia". The IOM project addresses issues of regional cooperation and institutional responses to combating irregular migration in Central Asia, responding to the identified needs of Central Asian governments within the "Almaty Process". The project is funded by the IOM Development Fund. The meeting was hosted by IOM Tajikistan in Dushanbe, November 6th and 7th 2014.
Representatives of Ministries of Interior, Labour and Border Guard services from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, IOM, national and international experts exchanged information on current country specific migration policies, international standards and practices in addressing the challenges of irregular migration.
