Regional MICIC (Migrants in Countries in Crisis Initiatives) Training Workshop on “Protecting Migrants in Emergencies” to be held on 15-16 May, 2017 in Almaty, Kazakhstan
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) – the UN Migration Agency, Sub-Regional Coordination Office for Central Asia in cooperation with the Center for Emergency Situations and Disaster Risk Reduction (CESDRR) in Almaty, will organize a Regional MICIC (Migrants in Countries in Crisis Initiatives) Training Workshop on “Protecting Migrants in Emergencies” to be held on 15-16 May, 2017 in Almaty, Kazakhstan (http://micicinitiative.iom.i…;).
The objective of the training is to enhance regional capacities to address the needs of migrants in countries experiencing a crisis, and to help prevent indirect, longer-term negative impacts on the well-being of communities of origin and destination of migrants. Direct beneficiaries of the training are emergency management authorities of Central Asian States and Afghanistan, as well as consular staff from relevant Central Asian countries that are posted in Kazakhstan.
