Mobile consultation among Tajik migrant workers, KARAGANDA, July 1st, 2013
PRESS RELEASE
KARAGANDA, July 1st, 2013 – International Organization for Migration (IOM) in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan and a legal point for migrants under the Karaganda branch of the Kazakhstan International Bureau on Human Rights and Rule of Law conducted the mobile consultation among Tajik migrant workers.
The meeting was held on July 1st, 2013, as a part of activities within Central Asia Regional Program.
The event was aimed at informing 70 migrants about the measures that facilitate the process of migration: departure, moving and registration of migrants, organization of respective medical services, and assistance in learning of language.
Regional Program for migration in Central Asia is implemented by IOM, UN Women, and World Bank funded by UK Government. There are legal stations for migrants operating in 7 cities and a republican hotline on migration issues ( 11616 ). 1749 migrants received the legal assistance from April till June 2013.
