IOM and Ural House are introducing partners from Almaty with Russian experience of organized recruitment of migrants.

On July 24, 2012 IOM office in Almaty has held an expert meeting with IOM partners within the framework of Regional Programme on Labor Migration in Central Asia. The participants of the meeting, such as General Consulate of Kyrgyz Republic, Migrants Support Centre in Almaty, Federation of Trade Unions of Kazakhstan, Confederation of employers in Kyrgyz Republic and Consulting Agency “Optimum” has learned about the methodology of organized recruitment of migrants from Central Asia conducted by Ural House (Yekaterinburg).The partners discussed the potential ways of integrating the scheme into Kazakhstan in terms of introducing work patents for the non-residents of Kazakhstan under the upcoming changes in legislation on migration. The participants agreed to further study the potential of Kazakh legislation in terms of applying the organized recruitment for expanding legal labour migration. The expert meeting is organized within the framework of the Regional Programme on Labor Migration in Central Asia, supported by the British Government (UKAID).
