Interview of Dejan Keserovic, Coordinator and Chief of Mission for Central Asia and Tatiana Hadjiemmanuel, Head of IOM Almaty and Deputy Sub Regional Coordinator for Central Asia for Kazakh TV, on February 08, 2017
On February 08, 2017 Kazakh TV featured an interview on labor migration in Kazakhstan, interviewing Dejan Keserovic, Coordinator for Central Asia and Chief of Mission in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, and Tatiana Hadjiemmanuel, Head of IOM Almaty and Deputy Sub Regional Coordinator for Central Asia.
Mr. Keserovic and Mrs. Hadjiemmanuel emphasized the importance of labor migration, as human mobility in Central Asia is mainly for work purposes. In particular in Kazakhstan, demand for labor migration is continuously increasing. They took this opportunity to introduce IOM/The UN Migration Agency, its work and activities in Central Asia, and they presented on IOM’s activities, such as the Almaty Process, and publications such as the 2016 Regional Field Assessment on “Migrant Vulnerabilities and Integration Needs in Central Asia: Root Causes, Social and Economic Impact of Return Migration” and the 2015 Mapping on Irregular Migration in Central Asia (http://www.iom.kz/en/publications)
